Holidays in Finland, part 1

This is the time of the year when I take a bit of a break from blogging and relax on a family holiday in my native Finland. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy – more to follow next week!

Bilberries - Finland

It’s bilberry time in Finland, and I never miss the chance to pick this delicacy and make a pie!

Lingonberries - Finland

The lingonberries are not quite ready yet … but soon!

Red currants - Finland

The redcurrants are ready to be picked, though!

Lake - Finland

The light summer nights allow for late walks around the lakes …

Lake - Finland

… and I adore the calmness of nature you can experience late in the evening.

Finland

Wild flowers grow where they please!

Sunset - Finland

The sun sets slowly and puts on wonderful colour displays … this one was taken through the aeroplane window just before we landed …

Sunset - Finland

… and we have had many more to admire!

Sunset - Finland

Sunset through the forest …

Sunset - Finland

… and behind the clouds.

Never miss a post! Sign up to the Multilingual Parenting newsletter and I will send you a recap of the week’s posts every Sunday. Every second week you will receive a more extensive issue with links to research articles and interesting posts from other writers, as well as handy tips and ideas! Want to read more like this? My book Bringing up a Bilingual Child is available on Amazon and in well-stocked bookshops. Do you have a specific question? You can send it to our team of Family Language Coaches and we will reply in a Q&A (questions are answered in order of arrival). If you are interested in tailor-made family language coaching, please, contact me and I will send you a proposal.
